Sailingship Aquaculture

Research & Development Project

Prof. Dr. Uwe Waller and his scientific partner, Prof. Dr. Ing. Klaus Kimmerle, are inventors and developers of this aquaculture project and planned this on a cargo ship. The idea of operating future cargo shipping with sailing ships, came from Uwe Köhler of Sailing Cargo based in Hamburg. Unfortunately, Uwe Köhler passed away in January 2023 after a long illness.

During the first years, the project achieved the important level of development as a Preliminary Design of the sailing ship Aquaculture.

The professors decided to continue the project. They asked the Rufios Media Network – People Stefan Schaper and Thomas Elitez to take the next steps together . The Rufios have been involved as a partner of the project for a long time and produced all media and communication for the SAC project.

The SAC-Project GbR is founded as a common basis for the project and as `harbour´ for the first ship.
